Sunday Morning Worship Service

The St James Contemporary Choir brought the audience to their feet with their jubilant praise.

“God is blowing across this land and His breath is life,” said Field Director Pamela Cahill as she told how He is moving in New England.

“Our focus is on the new generation” stated Remi Ayida of Nigeria, introducing four young women who sang a praise song in their native dialect. It was a taste of heaven as people from around the world entered into this sweet time of praise to the God of all nations.

Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil introduced us to her friend Sam, a woman
“stuck in her stuff” as described in John 4.

“Jesus has a way of coming to you when you least expect it.”

“Most people whose lives are messed up already know it. Jesus makes her want to engage Him. Would to God our evangelism would be so inviting people would want to know more.”

“We’re thirsty people—that’s why we keep visiting the same well.”

“Before Jesus can give us the real thing, we’ve got to give Him the counterfeit.”

At the closing invitation, two women responded—giving their lives to Jesus! Praise God!

Geneva Vollrath - President of Stonecroft Ministries

Geneva Vollrath closed with this challenge, “Who will go?”

One by one, voices echoed from the audience. “Here I am. Send me.”

“We are hope-dependent people. Light changes our world and changes us.”

“We all have a trail of ‘I can’ts behind us. God wants to ‘can’ your ‘I can’ts.’”

“Jesus doesn’t ask people to change their lifestyle before they come to Him. Why do we? I can accept people the way they are and leave the redecorating to God.”

“In the midst of all the pessimism that surrounds us today, I’m making a shameless appeal for celebration. What God does in everyday life is stunning and amazing.”
Volunteer Shawna Niequist

“We need to create margin in our lives so we can reach out to those who don’t know Jesus. We get filled up for the purpose of being poured out.”  Field Director Tami Walker

“My vision is that we all act on our faith, regardless of our circumstances or age.”  Stonecroft intern Krystina Lowrey

Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil wowed the crowd speaking gems of truth with passion and purpose:

  • “What’s your vision that’s greater than your comfort?”
  • “You’re never born unless God has some reason to have you on the planet.”
  • “I’m more than dead if I don’t follow God’s vision for my life.”

“Have a recruiter’s eye. Put your toes in the water and see what God will do,” Field Director Kathy White.

“No matter where I am, I’ve got the Lord by my side and that’s an exciting place to be,” 2008 Intern Lacie Schubert.

“Our lives are not to be a distraction from what God wants to do,” Vice President of Ministry Cheryl Davis.

“What is in our lives that makes women want to follow us and our God? Because I’m here to tell you, politics won’t save us. Only Jesus can!” President and CEO Geneva Vollrath.

Eureka!

The Vital Network in Eureka, California was noted during tonight’s Opening Session. The emcees, Trina Pocket and Char Kellogg, spoke about “Chazown” and how it’s “all about being innovative and relational—like the Vital Network group in Eureka that threw a baby shower for the pregnancy care center.” Great job, Gals!

Did you know there are Stonecroft volunteers from Barbados, Canada, India, Nepal, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Switzerland, and Trinidad/Tobago, and the United States attending Impact ’08? Check out the Media Page and see if you catch a glimpse of any of your friends!

Twenty-three year old Krystina Lowrey, one of Stonecroft’s Spring 2008 interns, gave the closing prayer for Celebrate: “We praise you, God, for the work you’ve already done through Stonecroft Ministries and the vision you’ve given us for the present and the years to come. Thank you for calling my generation to impact the world with the Gospel, just as you have the generations before. Encourage and equip us to reach out to people you’ve placed in our paths. Teach and empower us to share your love in real and relevant ways that will stir their hearts and revolutionize their lives in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”

Stonecroft Heart Award Winner - Norma MacAllister

And the winner of the 2008 Stonecroft Heart Award is . . . . Norma MacAllister from Texas! Here’s a comment from one of the people who nominated her: “My vote is based not only on the longevity of Norma’s service, but also on how she has carried out Stonecroft’s mission and vision for our organization. I looked at how innovative and creative she has been in carrying out the mission, and how she is equipping the future leaders of Stonecroft.”
